How is the duration counted?
It's the number of whole days from the start date to the end date. The same span is also shown as years/months/days and as weeks and days, so you can read it whichever way you need.
Can I find a date X days from now?
Yes. Use the second box: pick a date, choose add or subtract, and enter the number of days. It returns the resulting date and which weekday it falls on.
Does it depend on my time zone?
Dates are treated as plain calendar dates (no time of day), so the day count is the same regardless of time zone, and nothing is sent to a server.
